Pets' Portraits
Painting portraits of pets has existed since the days when man lived in caves. Animal paintings have existed since the day when man learned to make friends with animals. To this day, pets are an integral part of our lives. They are our best friends, family members and closest companions. They love us purely and unconditionally, connect with us and even their mood and habits are affected by us. Pets give us their unconditional love, companionship and loyalty. Painting a pet portrait is meant to honor and commemorate our friendship with them and shows the world how much our pets mean to us. Painting a pet portrait can also be a great way to remember a pet that has passed away. Moreover, it can be an amazing personalized gift for friends, family or a loved one.
A handmade pet portrait painting is original art and will provide a tangible, one-time, durable and meaningful memento of our beloved pet. It is important that we understand the difference between drawing a pet and taking and printing pictures of animals: we live in a digital world and our phones are full of ephemeral digital photos which are easily taken, but can just as easily be deleted like any of the thousands of files on our phones. On the other hand, a handmade painting by an artist and with quality materials - we hang on the wall and it is a permanent presence in our home and a living emotion in our lives. Another advantage of painting a pet portrait is the quality: original art - especially animal portrait paintings, will be preserved for life and for generations to come. These paintings will always be considered valuable works of art.
Pets' portraits shows the place of pets among our family members. Every dog, cat, rabbit, turtle and ferret is unique in their own way. Like parents who commemorate their children's milestones and preserve their memories as they grow up, pet "parents" capture photos of their "fur babies." Your pets deserve a place on the wall next to you and all your family members! Unfortunately, pets' lives are not as long as we would like them to be, but painting custom portraits of our beloved pets can preserve and showcase the pets who shared our lives with us and were gone too soon. Furthermore, pets may feel that a painting of them at home is something important that we have done for them. Even though they may not fully understand the gesture, personalizing the pets' living space may increase their confidence in us and pet portraits may help them gain more trust in us and their home.
Painting an animal requires high skill in portrait painting, high sensitivity and love for animals. I have been vegan for over a decade and a half, love animals and believe in animal liberation. For me, the concept "pets" does not fully represent my feelings and I prefer to treat them as souls who chose me and call them companion souls, guardian angels and family members in mutual adoption. Therefore, I will work with you to find the perfect image that best represents the animal that lives with you. The photograph does not have to be perfect - as long as the animal is photographed in a good position, I can work with the photograph even when the lighting is not good enough, or if the image is not completely clear. I will find the good, true core of your pet and create a dynamic painting for you that shows the best of your pet! You can order a pet painting in any of the techniques: animal portrait painting in oil colors on canvas, animal painting in water colors on paper, digital portrait painting of the pet, pencil / charcoal / ink drawing of the pet. Illustrations of pets can be created in any style you choose and they serve as a captivating accompaniment to any text intended for publication and even for a family memoir. Pet illustrations contribute a lot to the description of the scene, being an image of an emotion or a footnote that sheds light on the other characters or the scene as a whole. Painting pet portraits is by far the best way to show the true personality of the pet and this way also provides an amazing variety of options which help to present the most suitable identity of the animal. For example, a painting of "The General", which depicts your feline friend in a Renaissance military outfit - there is no better way to tell the world who really owns the house. Or drawing the portrait of the dog in Harry Potter's Gryffindor outfit.
Painting a friend's or family's pets is a truly special gift for someone we care about. Such a painting will make any birthday, holiday, anniversary, or any other special event much more amazing! It is also a very personal gift that shows care and love. It is a perfect gift to preserve the memory of any such precious pet. There are lots of gifts that can be given to pet lovers such as toys and even food. Despite being a very common gift, pet toys are not ideal as every pet lover usually already has plenty of them. Giving a pet lover food is great, but it doesn't show that a lot of thought went into the process. Gifts of this kind will yield no more than a polite thank you before disappearing rather quickly into the shadows of memory. On the other hand, pets' portraits are a clear representation of the thought, time and effort put into providing long-lasting memories. I can say that all my clients were very excited to receive an animal painting and every such project has taken me to a very special occasion when delivering the painting, the essence of which is love.
As mentioned, for drawing animals it is recommended to get a good picture. As a painter and illustrator, I recommend using natural lighting because flashlights scare pets and also, natural light will not cause red eyes in the pet's photo. I also recommend focusing on the animal's eyes and allowing its expression to be the focal point of the photo that I will use for the painting. Another recommendation of mine is to capture the character of the pet, for example is the dog playful? - take a picture of him doing what he does best. Finally, it is recommended that you send me several photos of the pets to help me understand them better and make the painting a permanent and original version of them.
